KatManDu Nightclub
KatManDu nightclub's historic building in Trenton, NJ was built in 1845 and was used to make the first steel I-beams and also guns in the civil war. By the 1990's though it had been empty for many years. A $4 million gut renovation and the addition of a 1500 sq. ft. dining room, a 1050 sq. ft. service wing, and a 9600 sq. ft. deck, done in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards, turned it into a 20,000 sq. ft. Caribbean themed nightclub overlooking the Delaware River. The club accommodates 670 people for dinner, 900 as a nightclub. It has both indoor and outdoor stages. The project won a 1997 Downtown New Jersey award and a 1998 NJ Business & Industry Assoc. Good Neighbor Award.*
